Terms of Service

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern all orders placed with BNI Catering Equipment (“BNI”, “we”, “us”, “our”) through our website or showroom. By placing an order, you agree to be bound by these Terms, together with our Delivery Policy and Returns Policy.

BNI Catering Equipment primarily serves trade and business customers, but we also welcome individual consumers who purchase on the basis set out below. Where UK consumer law grants you rights that these Terms do not, those rights are not affected — our procedures simply describe how orders, delivery, and after-sales support work in practice.

1. Who We Are

References to “BNI”, “we”, “us” or “our” mean BNI Catering Equipment, trading from Unit 2 Cathgate Works, Thornbury Road, Bradford, BD3 8HE.

2. Placing an Order

2.1 Adding an item to your basket and completing checkout is an offer to buy. A contract is only formed once we confirm your order by email or dispatch the goods — whichever happens first.

2.2 We may decline or cancel an order before dispatch if stock is unavailable, if there is a pricing or listing error, if we suspect fraud, or if you have breached these Terms. Any payment already taken will be refunded in full.

2.3 You are responsible for giving us accurate delivery and contact details, and for checking that the equipment will fit through your doorways, corridors, and intended installation space.

2.4 Lead times shown on the site are estimates, not guarantees. We will let you know as soon as possible if an item is delayed or out of stock.

3. Prices and Payment

3.1 All prices are shown in GBP and exclude VAT unless stated otherwise. VAT is added at checkout at the applicable rate.

3.2 We take reasonable care to display prices accurately, but if a genuine pricing error occurs, we will contact you before proceeding — you may cancel or continue at the corrected price.

3.3 Payment is required in full at checkout unless we have agreed alternative payment terms with you in writing (for example, a trade account or finance option).

3.4 We accept payment by major debit/credit cards, and other checkout options shown at the time of purchase, including finance options subject to approval.

3.5 Orders paid by bank transfer will only be processed once cleared funds have reached our account.

4. Product Information

4.1 We do our best to keep specifications, images, and descriptions accurate and up to date. However, manufacturers occasionally update models, so minor variations in appearance, colour, or specification may occur.

4.2 Product images are for illustration. Please check the written specification (dimensions, power rating, capacity) before ordering to confirm suitability for your kitchen or business.

4.3 It is your responsibility to confirm that a product suits your intended use, including power supply, ventilation, gas connection, and available space. We are not responsible for losses arising from an unsuitable product choice.

5. Delivery

5.1 Full delivery terms are set out in our Delivery Policy, which forms part of these Terms.

5.2 Unless agreed otherwise, delivery is to kerbside/ground floor entrance only. Drivers are not obliged to carry items indoors, unpack them, or remove packaging.

5.3 Please do not arrange installation engineers until your order has arrived and been inspected.

5.4 Delivery dates given at checkout or by our team are estimates. While we aim to be on time, we are not liable for reasonable delays caused by couriers or circumstances outside our control.

5.5 If nobody is available to receive a scheduled delivery, a redelivery charge may apply.

6. Risk and Ownership

6.1 Risk in the goods passes to you once they are delivered to the address provided.

6.2 Ownership of the goods only transfers to you once we have received payment in full.

7. Cancelling an Order

7.1 You may cancel an order free of charge by emailing us before it has been dispatched.

7.2 Once an order has been dispatched, cancelling is treated as a return under our Returns Policy, and return delivery costs may apply.

7.3 Bespoke, made-to-order, or specially imported items cannot be cancelled once production or procurement has started, unless we agree otherwise in writing.

8. Damaged or Faulty Goods on Arrival

8.1 Please inspect your delivery as soon as it arrives. If anything is damaged, missing, or faulty, let us know within 48 hours with photos so we can resolve it quickly.

8.2 Please keep the original packaging until you are satisfied the item is working correctly — this helps us process any claim faster and is required if a return or exchange is needed.

8.3 Where a fault is confirmed, we will offer a repair or replacement as the first option. A refund may be offered where a repair or replacement is not practical.

9. Returns

9.1 Our full Returns Policy explains how to request a return and what conditions apply.

9.2 Change-of-mind returns must be requested within 14 days of delivery. Items must be unused, in resalable condition, and returned in their original packaging with all parts and accessories.

9.3 Return delivery costs are payable by the customer unless the item is faulty or was delivered in error.

9.4 Refunds are processed after the returned item has been inspected, normally within 7–14 working days.

10. Warranty

10.1 Unless stated otherwise on the product page, equipment sold by BNI Catering Equipment comes with a 12-month parts warranty from the date of delivery, covering manufacturing defects.

10.2 During the warranty period we will, at our discretion, repair or replace parts affected by a manufacturing fault. Labour, call-out, or engineer travel costs beyond any period stated on the product page are not automatically included.

10.3 The warranty does not cover normal wear and tear, consumable parts (such as seals, filters, bulbs, or blades), damage from misuse, incorrect installation, lack of maintenance, or unauthorised repairs.

10.4 To make a warranty claim, please contact us with your order number, a description of the issue, and photos or video where possible. We may ask for an engineer’s report for certain faults.

10.5 Gas appliances must be installed by a Gas Safe registered engineer, electrical appliances by a qualified electrician, and plumbed appliances by a qualified plumber. Warranty claims may be affected if this is not followed.

11. Our Liability

11.1 Nothing in these Terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or for fraud.

11.2 Subject to clause 11.1, our total liability for any order is limited to the price you paid for the goods in question.

11.3 We are not liable for indirect losses such as loss of profit, loss of business, or business interruption arising from the use of the equipment.

12. Fair Use of Our Service

12.1 We ask that all customers and our team treat each other with respect. We reserve the right to refuse service to anyone who is abusive or threatening towards our staff.

13. Changes to These Terms

13.1 We may update these Terms from time to time to reflect changes in our business or the law. The version published on our website at the time of your order will apply.

14. Governing Law

14.1 These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
